General Pickett Parking Lot to close after September 30, 2019
The 65-space municipal parking lot located at 45 Green Street will close permanently after September 30, 2019. The lot will begin its transformation into a pedestrian-friendly park and plaza that will serve as one of the main entrances to the Polar Park ballpark!
More than 1,100 public parking spaces are available on the streets and in municipal lots nearby. Canal District merchants are opening new parking lots and will be operating a shuttle service between these lots and Canal District businesses. Weekly Construction Update
September 15- September 21
National Grid crews will be working for four days from Kelley Square to Pond Street.
National Grid crews will be working between Washington Street and Green Street.
P.J. Albert will continue excavating and replacing the sidewalk between Lamartine Street and Arwick Avenue. Once the sidewalk is completed, the street will be reconstructed. This should take three weeks for the sidewalk and six weeks for the roadway.
The traffic signals at Endicott Street will be removed and replaced with Stop Signs.
Eversource will be working at night from 10 PM to 6 AM.
Borges Construction will be performing sewer and drain lateral work between Gold Street and Washington Street on 9/16.
Eastbound lanes between Southbridge Street and Washington Street may be closed at certain times between 7 AM and 3 PM due to construction.
ET&L will be removing the median and light poles and installing temporary roadway lighting between Hermon Street and Myrtle Street. Temporary lighting will be finished and operational by 9/17. Power to the existing streetlights will be turned off and the lights will be removed.
The median will be demolished and paved so that traffic can be shifted and bridge work can continue.
National Grid crews will be working for four days between Green Street and Harding Street.
French Construction will be hauling ballpark material near Table Talk Pie during the day of 9/21.
National Water Main Cleaning Company is scheduled to clean and inspect the sewers between Ash Street and Madison Street (near Table Talk) at 7 AM on 9/14 and 9/21.
P.J. Albert will continue installing concrete sidewalks between Lamartine Street and Harding Street. Once complete, the top course of the roadway will be placed. The roadway is going to be completed in conjunction with the adjacent section on Harding Street. The sidewalks should be complete in another week or two, and the roadway will be completed by the end of October.
AJ Virgilio will continue installing electrical conduit and pouring concrete between Harding Street and Green Street.
